Almasi Beverages Ltd is a company which was born out of a merger of three Coca-Cola bottling companies of Rift Valley Bottlers, Kisii Bottlers and Mount Kenya Bottlers. Almasi’s purpose is to increase shareholder value by manufacturing, packaging, distributing and selling Coca-Cola products.The company is currently integrating its operations to one seamless organization. We have an innovative Change strategy which focuses on strong distribution & manufacturing, selling and building a strong and capable workforce. Our new business architecture is that of a centralized Commercial function, devolved manufacturing and distribution for revenue generation and a strong centralized support function of HR, Finance, IT, Procurement, Risk; for the purpose of creating sharper focus, efficiency and effectiveness to enable us achieve a double digit growth in 2014 and beyond. We shall deliver all these through close collaboration with Coca-Cola, our shareholders and other key stakeholders both externally and internally, including our people.

Job Purpose:


To lead the Quality Assurance team in ensuring that all products are produced and distributed within quality standards as set by Coca – Cola and other National statutory and regulatory bodies.


Main Responsibilities:



  • Provide expert input in formulation, execution and review of corporate strategies, policies, plans and budgets relating to the production of quality products.

  • Provide effective leadership to the department, carry out regular staff appraisals and recommend appropriate training, development and motivational strategies necessary for sustaining a high performance culture.

  • Oversee the examination of all incoming materials (including water) to ensure that the standards are to the agreed specification for both quality and quantity.

  • Provide oversight to the production processes to ensure that they are being carried out according to the approved methods and sanitary conditions and that finished product is being manufactured to specified quality standards as provided in TCCQS and statutory standards.

  • Ensure that all technical investigations on customer complaint samples are properly conducted, reported and resolved within specified time.

  • Investigate production of non-conforming products and advise on appropriate action.

  • Develop sanitization and hygiene procedures to continually improve standards within the plant.

  • Assist in training of staff on SHEQ programs and ensure compliance to legal requirements

  • Qualify, recommend, and supervise destruction of non-conforming materials and products as per the current environmental standards.

  • Liaise and follow up with suppliers on quality problems as and when required.


Education and Experience



  • Bachelor’s Degree in food science and technology or related

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a busy manufacturing environment, 2 of which must be in senior quality assurance leadership position.
