Job Summary / Objective: To coordinate all cargo logistics and ensure all policies, procedures and quality standards are adhered to at all times so as to ensure that there continuous improvement. Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervision of all aspects of Cargo logistics in Mombasa.
- Ensure smooth shipment of all company related cargo and logistics process.
- Liaise with the operations manager, relevant coordinating officers and logistics contractors to ensure coordinated logistical services and support.
- Coordinate with all Field officers for logistical support.
- External Interaction with Suppliers; Freight Forwarding and Logistics contractors; Port Authorities; Customs Authorities on all aspects of cargo movements, clearing & forwarding.
- Ensure consignments are cleared from the port on time.
- Supervise all liquid/dry cargo loadings at various loading points.
- Keep a register (data base) of all company shipments to ensure accurate reporting on weights, volumes, cargo status updates, amendments, advices, inventory, and tracking & return.
- Cost control to ensure that the cargo logistics plans are realistic and reflect the business environment, and are consistent with the company’s EHS policies whilst maximizing the efficiency.
- Any other duties assigned by the Management from time to time
Qualifications
- Diploma in Clearing and Forwarding,
- 5 years working experience 2 of which should be with dry cargo or liquid cargo logistics,
- Experience in Port operations is a MUST,
- Certification by KRATI will be an added advantage,
- Candidate Must be able to work under pressure and under minimum supervision,
- Candidate Must be able to meet targets within set time frame,
- Candidate Must possess analytical skills and reporting,
- Candidate Must be Team player,
- A valid driver’s license for motorcycle class will be an added advantage.
