Salary: USD 1500 – 2000 Our client is a leading international security solution provider for companies of all sizes, home and mobile phone users.


They have over 20 years of experience in providing digital services to more than 150 countries in the world. Job Purpose: The key responsibilities of the Business development manager is to sell through a channel network.


This would include nurturing and growing the existing partner network, recruiting new partners, partner on boarding, new business development, sales support for partners, marketing support for partners and the region, creation of team of support staff for the Kenya office when the need arises (including technical support).


Duties and Responsibilities



  • Partner & client prospecting (via networking, “Cold Calling”, Online Search, marketing initiatives, etc).

  • Contacting prospective partners.

  • Presenting the companies brand and solutions to prospective partners and clients.

  • Managing the partner recruitment cycle from first contact through to registration.

  • Assisting new partners with the company’s Business Plans.

  • Managing the partner relationship through recruitment.

  • Training newly acquired partners/clients on company’s products (from a sales perspective).

  • Providing new partners with companies sales and marketing collateral.

  • Liaising with Technical to deliver technical training to the partner where necessary.

  • Assist Partner/clients with needs analysis, planning and implementation of POC’s, in conjunction with technical department.

  • Maintain a partner recruitment pipeline



  1. Number of new partners in the pipeline

  2. Estimated partner revenue value (to FY-end)

  3. Meeting partner recruitment targets in terms of number of recruited partners

  4. Meeting partner recruitment targets in terms of new partner revenue.



  • Develop a tactical plan for maximizing new partner revenue.

  • Drive marketing in the region.

  • Support Partner Marketing initiatives.

  • Attend networking events



  1. Set objectives for attending events

  2. Tactical Planning for networking events

  3. Measure event outcomes.



  • Organize and attend companies Road shows.

  • Source Customer Leads for referral to new partners recruited where applicable

  • Assist recruited partners with sales.

  • Create demo licenses for partners.

  • Constant refresh and learning of the company’s products regarding new features.

  • Escalate partner issues.

  • Report on sales and partner activities and partner pipeline.

  • Manage and report weekly on budget.

  • Perform any reasonable tasks / duties requested by management.


Qualifications / Skills


  • Bachelors’ degree in sales/ Marketing/ Business development

  • Over 5 years experience in sales and marketing in channel distribution

  • Preferred age (32-37)

  • Ability to travel extensively in Kenya and East Africa as a whole.

  • Ability to continuously improve product knowledge.

  • Efficient time management.

  • Liaise with technical for POC’s and high level technical engagement – preferable.

  • Very organized, able to plan, direct and execute.

  • Target driven position.

  • Ability to work independently as a cost centre.

  • Up to date with competition in our marketplace.

  • Ability to manage day to day activities in line with set goals and objective.

  • Ability to lead Convert Sales/Client retention.

  • Must be able to travel throughout Africa.
