Fleet Supervisor Job Vacancy in Kenya

A global logistics, transportation, freight and International courier Company is looking for a Fleet Supervisor to manage and control their fleet of +100 bikes, vans and trucks around Kenya. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all vehicles are maintained in good operating conditions, co-ordinate and optimise continuous fleet movement and deliver the highest customer satisfaction.


They will also be responsible to managing the fuel supplier (e.g. Gas Station) and the leasing company to make sure all parties are committed to their contracts.



Typical duties included are but not limited to:


Daily Duties



  • Manage and maintain all vehicles records on related systems & log sheets to provide a clear and real time visibility for the status of each operating vehicle to ensure efficient, low cost, and easy reference to the history of all vehicles.

  • Manage and update all vehicles records on the Vehicle Management System. Records should include the following information:



  1. Vehicle details (number, manufacturer, model, license plate number)

  2. Insurance company(s), (Name and contact info)

  3. Leasing company, (Name and contact info)



  • Fill the Vehicles Morning Daily check list.

  • Record odometer reading both at In and Out of the station. Records should be kept in a special log.

  • Enter all fuel invoices on the Vehicle Management System.

  • Enter all maintenance expenses (oil change, breaks …etc) on the Vehicle Management System.

  • Fill the Vehicles Evening Daily check list.

  • Record Time In and Time Out for each vehicle on a special record sheet kept for general records.

  • Take an immediate action in case of vehicle breakdown (mechanical failure, accidents, etc…) and ensure a replacement vehicle is available.

  • For Stations using the vehicle Tracking System; Fleet supervisor must check the following reports:



  1. Over speeding report: to ensure that couriers are driving within the city speed limit.

  2. Detailed Vehicle-Courier: in case of vehicle breakdown or accident, fleet supervisor may obtain a detailed update about the vehicle (locations per stop with the durations of both the stops and the travels) to help him get a clearer understanding of the situation.

  3. GPS Cuts report: to monitor the status of the GPS connection & to take an action (report the problem to IT) when a connection failure exceeds the acceptable limit.


Weekly Duties


  • Fill in the Vehicles Weekly check list with the captured information and take action accordingly to ensure all vehicles are ready, up and running efficiently on the ground.


Monthly Duties


  • Fill in the Vehicles Monthly check list and keep records of the couriers & ‘vehicles’ official driving documents to ensure all fleet related assets are well monitored & take the necessary corrective action when needed.


Basic Requirements:


  • University degree preferred.

  • Good command of English language.

  • MS Office applications (Word, Excel & Outlook).

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience as a Ground Courier.

  • Basic mechanical & technical skills.

  • Local knowledge of areas and neighbourhoods around the country particularly Nairobi.
