Position: Technical Sales Account Manager

Department:DMS

Reports To: Head Of Business Unit- Dms


Nature and Scope of the Position

Technical sales Account Manager combines technical knowledge with sales skills to provide advice and support on a range of products. A Technical sales account manager is responsible for providing both Pre- sales and after sales advice


Duties



  • Searching for new clients who might benefit from company products or services and maximizing client potential in designated regions;

  • developing long-term relationships with clients through managing and interpreting their requirements

  • persuading clients that a product or service best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery;

  • negotiating tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs;

  • calculating client quotations and administering client accounts;

  • providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education, and after-sales support services;

  • analyzing costs and sales

  • preparing sales reports and sending them to your supervisor

  • meeting regular sales targets and coordinating sales projects;

  • supporting marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events;

  • making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product meets client needs;

  • liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts;

  • helping in the design of custom-made products;

  • Providing training and producing support material for other members of the sales team.


Qualifications



  • Degree in Information Technology

  • Professional qualification in IT related certifications will be an added advantage


Experience



  • Over 4 years’ experience

  • Over 2 years pre- sales experience


Market knowledge



  • Background in Document Management Solutions

  • Experience in consultative approach to selling

  • Experience and success in cold calling

  • Experience in technology sales / related industries.

  • Work related skills Good organizational skills

  • Aggressive and Result Oriented

  • Able to meet set target on a monthly basis

  • Able to meet deadlines

  • Good leadership qualities

  • Passion in Sales


Personal attributes



  • Ability to build rapport – “warm” to a person and get a person “warm” to them. This is an emotive “trust based” sale

  • Highly professional and presentable. Again, the impression and relationship a person can build with the client is key critical

  • Numerate – there is a fair amount of discussion of financial issues with clients

  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral

  • Desire to “push the boat out” and contribute strongly to building a great company.

  • The ideal candidate will have both a) hunger and drive and b) the ability to fit into and work successfully with an entrepreneurial and “can do” team

  • Ability to meet and exceed set sales targets

  • Reports on proposals and quotations done on weekly basis to your supervisor
