Cost / Management Accountant
Duties
- Establishing and updating Standard Costs of projects, manufactured and purchased items.
- Ensuring minimal variance between actual and standard costs.
- Advising on product profitability and pricing structures, evaluating sanctions and monitoring contract prices renewals.
- Preparing financial reports for decision making including the monthly budget control.
- Reporting Costs of Budgets and Cash Flow Budgets.
- Modeling of Costs data for purposes of decision making by management participating in Work-In-Progress and Engineering Stocks and projects evaluations.
- Reviewing and analyzing weekly and monthly operating costs against budget and analyzing any significant variances.
- Updating standard costs in bill of materials in conjunction with the Quantity Surveyor.
- Reviewing standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.
- Validating the costs of projects as part of the project end.
- Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles.
- Reporting on breakeven points by project and work centers.
- Reporting on margins by project.
- Reporting on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances.
- Analyzing capital budgeting requests.
- Must have a flair on process and cost accounting
Qualification & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting option, 2nd class, upper division or 1st class
- CMA/CPA (K)/ACCA qualification is mandatory
- Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing/construction industry mostly handling process/cost/management accounting.
- Experience in interpreting and analyzing financial data is essential.
- High numeric abilities.
- Over 40 years of age
- Advanced computer skills
- Working knowledge of SAP software is an added advantage.
- Ability to read, interpret data and create reports and presentations as required.
- Good organization skills.
