Our client is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced applicant to fill the following position:
Vacancy: Electromechanical Technician
To ensure minimal or no breakdowns in plant equipment, ensure equipment utilisation is optimal and support factory development works through automation and semi automation activities
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Handle in a timely and structured manner pneumatics and automation requirements interfacing between mechanical and electrical/electronic parts
- Resolve factory breakdowns in a structured manner ensuring that recurrence is completely eliminated
- Review parts requirement for electrical-mechanical parts and liaise with the engineering store- keeper to ensure adequate and vital parts are available in the right quantity and quality whenever needed
- Participate in M&E upgrade and conversion works to improve output and capacity
- Carry out machine changeovers as necessary
- Oversee equipment start up and shutdown to ensure that operators do not encounter simple technical hitches
- Implement planned maintenance plans on equipment
- Assist machine operators in machine inspection during cleaning while ensuring that lubrication is performed appropriately and as per lubrication schedule
- Participate in energy conservation measures and activities
- Participate in allocated projects and Capex works
- Deputize the electrical technician in all areas of jurisdiction and take full accountability of this position deliverables and KPIs whenever required
Education and Experience
- Diploma in Mechatronics from a reputable institution
- 4 years of experience in pneumatics, automation and electro mechanical works especially in a liquids bottling company, canning and other related foods factories.
- Ability to troubleshoot and correct machine related problems in record time
- Ability to prioritize a heavy workload and delivery in time with no supervision
