Job description
- Ensure that the books of accounts reflect the true and fair view of the state of affair of the company.
- Responsible to see that international accounting standards are complied.
- Responsible for strict compliance of group policies and procedure.
- Performing the periodic closing process (monthly and yearly) strictly on the deadlines with accuracy.
- Support management in responding effectively to internal and external auditors and ensure the audit requirements are met.
- Ensure effective data and knowledge management of all financial data.
- Ensure internal controls are in place, in line with global financial management policies and procedures.
- Ensure the team members are aware of the group policies and procedures.
- Review the existing processes and procedures and provide suggestions for improvement in business processes for efficient functioning
- Manage the department and ensure that the team consistently delivers quality results
- Liaison with suppliers to resolve their complaints and litigations
- Carry out performance appraisals of subordinates periodically
- Plan timely training to maintain and improve skills of team members
- Work with department heads to understand the team’s concerns and resolve them.
- Delegate tasks appropriately to immediate subordinates and develop them to move to next level
- Responsible for setting targets to the team.
- Manage the finance team, providing direction and coaching whilst also managing performance.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Good knowledge on IAS and internal policies and procedures
- Team Management
- Expertise in JD Edwards financial accounting software, PERSIS, BO, SNA
- Effective communication skills
- Leadership skills.
- 5-6 years of relevant job experience.
- Experience of working in a tax environment is advantageous.
- Fully qualified Management Accountant (CMA), ACCA, ACA or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license with strong technical accounting skills.
