Job Title: Ticketing Consultant

Salary: 50k-60k Our client is a travel agency which fosters simplicity and convenience in how customers book their flights.
They are looking for a Ticketing Consultant to assist in quoting the airfares or providing assistance to travel agents in understanding the rules and what can or can’t be done on a particular fare. Minimum Qualification

- Diploma in Tours & Travel
- At least 2 years experience in Tour Consultancy or Ticketing
- Must have a solid knowledge of (Global Distribution Systems) GDS – preferably Amadeus
- Proficient knowledge of IATA airfare construction
- Extensive geographical knowledge
- Good attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organization skills – able to plan, co-ordinate and organize effectively
- Self-motivated, patient and disciplined
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- The ability to work under pressure and take responsibility for decision making
- Ability to make effective use of resources available to complete tasks to agreed deadline
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Key Responsibilities
- Check and process ticket re-issue’s and fare calculations
- Manually build fare constructions such as (Round The World)RTW fares when itineraries do not auto price
- Answer internal ticketing queries by phone and email
- Assist consultants with understanding of net fare rules and restrictions
- Ensuring airlines fares are loaded correctly and liaising with airlines to rectify if not
- Check daily for airline contract updates using the nett fare tools and distribute accordingly
- Maintain and organize airline contracts, keeping them up to date
Competencies and Skills
The incumbent must demonstrate the following skills:
- Excellent customer service skills and fluency in both written and spoken English
- Degree or a diploma in Tour operations or tourism management
- Over four years experience as Tour consultant in a busy environment
- Ability to use various tours/hotel bookings software
- Highly organized with excellent planning skills
- Be culturally aware and adept at working with people of different diversity.
- Ability to work under pressure and provide solutions to problems.
