Scope of the Role (budget responsibilities, direct reports, etc.)
IT Lead facilitates strategic planning, demand management, communication, planning, Service Management, Production Readiness activities, program and portfolio oversight and escalation/issue resolution. This role will sit on both the EMEA IT and Africa Business Leadership team. Responsible for setting direction and day to day management of Arica IT teams. Responsible for relationships between business, IT functional and launch and support teams.
Main Purpose of the Job/ Key responsibilities
- Business partner liaison duties consist of activities that promote communication and good working relationships with business IT and business (own the business relationship and facilitate the technical relationships.)
a. Work with Africa business leads to provide strategic support and feedback as well as understanding and communicating long range plans between IT and business partner organizations.
b. Work with EMEA IT Functional leads to provide strategic support and feedback as well as understanding and communicating long range plans between IT and business partner organizations
c. Establish partner and IT rapport to help foster communication, information exchange and good will.
d. Serve as escalation point for partner concerns and issues not being resolved.
e. Provide awareness of critical business processing periods giving personal attention as required to ensure smooth operation.
f. Facilitate process improvement initiatives between partners and infrastructure.
g. Represent EMEA IT at business related projects with technical teams.
h. Have an awareness of outages and problems to provide effective communication with partners.
i. Provide standardized dashboard reporting functionality highlighting good service statistics as well as areas of challenge.
- Service manager roles include tasks required to negotiate, establish, maintain, and report on operating targets.
a. Develop, implement, and maintain a service management framework and standard operating procedures.
b. Raise awareness of service management within EMEA IT and with business partners.
c. Develop, negotiate, and implement partner operating targets.
d. Regularly monitor and review service performance against operating targets to ensure that maximum business value is delivered.
- Program Manager Responsibility includes those things required to ensure overall good project management services for business partners.
a. Have a general awareness of all partner projects to ensure that project needs and key deliverables are addressed.
b. Communicate and facilitate partner release details and timelines to EMEA IT teams.
c. Communicate and facilitate major project info with partners.
d. Understand and communicate strategic initiative roadmaps (differentiate the business roadmap and the technical roadmap).
- Provide leadership, direction and day to day management of regionally located functional IT permanent and contractor teams. Qualifications:
Education:
Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree at minimum. Ideal candidate will possess a degree in Business or Information Technology. Must be experienced in setting strategy, project management of small and large projects and team/people leadership.
