We are seeking to recruit an experienced and self- motivated individual to the position of Team Leader in our Nation Courier Division.
Reporting to the Distribution Operations Manager, the Team Leader will be responsible for planning, controlling, organizing and supervising the Newspaper, Magazines and Courier distribution service and providing leadership in operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and ensuring that adequate resources; that is drivers, vehicles and motorcycles are allocated for efficient and effective transportation of Newspapers, Magazines Courier and staff;
- Providing leadership, mentorship and discipline through the direct supervision of Transport Supervisors, Shift Supervisors, Courier Customer Service Executives, Distribution Assistants and Courier Distribution Assistants;
- Generating revenue from both internal and external sources;
- Managing /Controlling mileage and fuel costs as per the allocated budget;
- Improving processes and feedback by advising the circulation department on the most effective and efficient distribution system;
- Ensuring a high level of customer service in Newspaper deliveries and working closely with Courier Business Executives to achieve Courier business targets;
- Developing market travel times for Newspaper market destinations; and
- Supervising Courier operations.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or a business related field from a recognized University;
- Diploma in Management/ Logistics/ Transport Management
- At least 5 years’ relevant experience in FMCG environment;
- Ability to write complex and timely reports
- Understanding of the dynamics and complexity of transport Management;
- People management skills.
