Octopus ICT Solutions provides innovative and cutting edge eLearning solutions to clients in Kenya and in the East African region. The company offers eLearning consultancy services and solutions to several corporate and government institutions in the country. Our portfolio also includes web solutions and ICT consultancy services.

An opportunity has arisen in our company for a Business Development Manager. This position is ideal for an outgoing and entrepreneurial individual, who will be in the forefront in managing and shaping the various products in portfolio.


As a Business Development Manager, you be responsible for many duties as we roll out new solutions and continue to grow our eLearning and Web portfolios.



Key responsibilities include:




  • Identifies and generates new eLearning & ICT business opportunities to further improve market share and awareness by gaining an understanding of customers’ needs and promoting services to these customers.

  • Product Champion: Serving as a spokesperson for the product offering; contributing to the overall vision and direction of the solutions; providing product demonstrations and presentations to various customers and prospects.

  • Sales Target: Setting clear achievable sales targets, objectives and developing practical plans to achieve those targets.

  • Building Relationships: Meeting with new and existing customers and partners; identifying new opportunities and pursuing partnerships.

  • Market Research: Gathering feedback and ideas from the user community; investigating competitive products and determining their strengths, weaknesses, and tactics.

  • Business Development: Working with management to further define and differentiate the product, based upon research and user feedback; Helping management to develop product positioning; Working to develop an overall marketing strategy.

  • Marketing: Helping develop and implement product launch strategy; Working with management to develop an online presence; Identifying and organizing trade shows and conference opportunities.

  • Technology Collaboration: Working with design, production and management teams to develop new product features based on customer feedback and market research.


Requirements for this position include:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and/or Communications.

  • Experience with eLearning solutions is an added advantage.

  • Exceptional written and verbal skills.

  • Strong IT and reporting skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously with broad direction.

  • Ability to multi-task and meet changing deadlines.

  • Must be self-directed and able to complete projects with limited supervision.

  • Experience with online marketing tools – social media, SEO is a plus.

  • Previous market research experience.

Production Manager – Web & eLearning

An opportunity has arisen in our company of an in-house web and eLearning manager. In this position, you will be responsible for the day to day operations of the eLearning and web departments.



Key Responsibilities include:




  • Coordinating all activities of the eLearning and web departments.

  • Assigning of work to the respective departments.

  • Ensuring that work assigned is completed and submitted to client on time.

  • Working with the eLearning team to deliver cutting edge and interactive courses to clients.

  • Coordinating with the Business Development Manager & Account Managers to deliver solutions to clients.

  • Allocating adequate manpower and system resources to projects.


Requirements for this position include:


  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Marketing and/or Communications.

  • Experience with eLearning solutions is an added advantage.

  • A good working knowledge of various eLearning authoring programs such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate, Adobe Connect etc.

  • Strong IT skills such as web development and design, graphic design etc.

  • Exceptional written and verbal skills.

  • Strong management and reporting skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously with broad direction.

  • Ability to multi-task and meet changing deadlines.

  • Must be self-directed and able to complete projects with limited supervision.

  • Strong understanding of Moodle, eFront, Sakai and/or other Learning Management Systems.
