Location: Nairobi Our client, East Africa’s leading manufacturers and distributors of agricultural, forestry, mining, construction and commercial transport equipment seeks to recruit a Field Sales Manager who has past experience selling Plant Equipment and Machinery
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Influencing customers to buy products by following a prepared sales talk to give product information and price quotations.
- Undertaking reports on market research, determining brand strengths and weaknesses, track competitive activity and pricing, lost sales.
- Preparing reports on marketing activities and sales performance as required by the
- General Manager Sales as well as by suppliers in the format they require.
- Ensuring all marketing opportunities is effectively translated into sales.
- Acting as a direct contact between the company and its existing and potential markets.
- Preparing proposals and quotations to customers.
- Gaining clear understanding of the customer’s requirements.
- Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results according to the company policies.
- Developing and maintaining marketing strategies to meet the agreed company objectives.
- Identifying target markets and developing strategies to communicate with them.
- Monitoring and analyzing market trends.
- Building market position of the company by locating, developing, defining, negotiating and closing business relationships with clients.
- Preparing action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made.
Professional Skills and Competencies
- Bachelors of Sales and Marketing, Mechanical Engineering or any Business related field. Masters Degree will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 5 years experience in sale of Plant Machinery in a similar company
- Ability to at least operate plant (start, drive, load onto low bed).
- Good connection within the government, counties and top Engineering firms.
- Highly-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, independently and as part of a team.
- MUST Possess a valid Driving License with appropriate certification in Plant machine Operations
