The mobile architect will be responsible for the overall technology roadmap, architecture and system specification of mobile commerce infrastructure. The position requires solid
knowledge of Mobile, Web-based, USSD, service-oriented architectures, Enterprise Service Bus, scalability concepts, analytics, and solid prototyping and design skills. Particular expertise with mobile payments architecture is required. Ability to interact effectively with clients in order to glean key requirements and develop a solution blueprint that addresses these requirements is a must.
Responsibilities
Acts as a subject matter expert for the IBM East African consulting business and serves as the system architecture authority for mobile/mobile payment solutions.
Develops system functional and technical requirements and architectural solutions to address these requirements.
Provides thought leadership regarding system design, architecture, and integration. Leads project teams to execute mobile projects in accordance with the established architectural boundaries. Provides guidance on the appropriate selection and deployment of mobile technologies.
Defines highly complex mobile commerce solutions including mobile payment, banking, mobile loyalty, advertisement and mobile offerings.
Leads system design activities or reviews system designs to ensure that applications solutions will exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment.
Requirements:
BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of key technologies/concepts/platforms including HTML 5, responsive design, USSD, iOS, Android, NFC, etc.
Ability to apply mobile technologies to the mobile payments and mobile commerce space
Knowledge of payment platforms and integration methodologies and best practices for integrating with banks, financial institutions, and governments
Experience with Cloud computing, SOA and/or Enterprise Service Bus Development and Implementation
Excellent systems documentation and architecture design skills
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 7 years experience in system architect
- English: Fluent

- Master’s Degree
- At least 10 years experience in system architect
