Pivot Limited, a Waste Enterprisers Holding company, seeks a Construction Supervisor who will work in collaboration with our Construction Manager to coordinate the construction of the company’s waste-to-fuel factory in Mombasa; ensure that work is completed in a timely manner; ensure responsible use of resources; and for personally completing construction related tasks.
Candidate must be prepared for a very hands-on, applied role, as much of the work is being completed in-house.
Location : Mombasa
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate contractors: identify and screen potential contractors and obtain quotes for assigned work; ensure hired contractors perform work on time and efficiently.
- Assist with basic concrete, wood, and metal construction of buildings; design of electricals and power systems; and design of plumbing.
- Keep detailed daily log of construction activities.
- Plan ahead to anticipate requirements and take action to avoid delays.
Requirements
- At least five years experience in construction (i.e. concrete, masonry, metal, and wood).
- Strong preference for candidate with background in power systems.
- High degree of consideration for safety.
- Highly deadline and goal oriented.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive, take initiative, think independently, troubleshoot, problem-solve, and learn quickly in new situations.
- High degree of integrity, honesty, reliability, and accountability.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Swahili.
- A related technical degree is preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work on a team.
