Our client is a Digital Gaming company seeking to hire a Commercial Manager to lead and grow business channels and sales teams across Kenya and East African markets.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead business development teams based in Kenya, and in future East Africa
- Market penetration of the clients products to all households and outdoor / recreational markets around Kenya
- Grow digital sales via mobile phone technology and other technological avenues
- Helping to shape distribution and marketing strategies to sustain growth in sales
- Develop products and services ensuring effectiveness and profitability.
- Source business and develop those that are most likely to produce a profit
- Provide consistent and effective Business management
- Produce and review management KPI’s and other management information as required
- Provide expertise and knowledge of maximising profitability
- Motivate sales teams to deliver fast growth.
- Build business through sales and marketing to existing and new customers
- To achieve KPIs, including sales targets
- Develop and build relationships with clients and the general public
- Enhance the business profile by informing and changing the customers perspective
- Devise and deliver promotional and marketing activities
- Identify potential partner companies to increase the range of products offered products
- Understand the competition in the gaming industry
- Head and lead the commercial team, regional sales teams, vendors etc
- Manage the commercial team including, training & performance management
- Taking new products to market or has delivered success in a virgin territory
- Report to the management team and attend management meetings
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Business/ Sales & Marketing/ Economics or similar
- Masters Degree in Business is an added advantage
- Has 5+ years experience in Management. Minimum 8 to 10 years total experience
- Has handled business development, sales, mass-market channel management and channel building, consumer-focused industries (FMCG)
- Impacted performance of international business and delivered growth in multiple territories
- CV will have examples of sales growth and sales team training
- Experience in selling products and leading business development teams
- Strong technical background and experience in the Kenyan market
- Excited about the opportunity to grow a high impact brand
- Strong leadership skills and the capabilities to manage a multi-cultural team
- Willing to spend 35% of his/her time on the road interacting with Sales teams
- Experience in developing positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent analytical skills
- Influencing skills & Ability to make sound judgment and handle difficult situations
- More importantly, is a team player
