ICF International Job Vacancy in Kenya : Orphans and Vulnerable Children Database Programmer

The International Health and Development Division of ICF seeks a Database Programmer to join our team. This position will manage the strengthening and rollout of the orphans and vulnerable children longitudinal management information system (OLMIS) in Kenya under the MEASURE Evaluation PIMA Project. The individual will work with USG/Kenya and implementing partners, appropriate Government of Kenya institutions, and additional stakeholders.


The position is based in Nairobi, Kenya.


Specific responsibilities include:



  • Address issues with user access to the system to improve the functionality and availability of real-time data at all levels of PEPFAR orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) program implementation

  • Maintain and update the system as needed in order to reflect the data needs articulated by PEPFAR Kenya and implementing partners for example, additional indicator requirements for income generating activities, and PEPFAR’s Monitoring, Evaluating, and Reporting guidance.

  • Generate requested reports from USG and work with users to define and respond to needs for additional reports

  • Monitor OLMIS data quality at the system level and the service points

  • Update software as needed to accommodate for program-specific forms or reports that may be needed and/or requested by PEPFAR Kenya.

  • Support master trainers and TOTs to train county and sub county CPMIS users and managers district (20 people per county, total 200 trained)


*Basic Qualifications: *



  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5-10 of experience in database management

  • Experience in strengthening and implementing information systems

  • Experiences with training users , trouble shooting, and developing training materials

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and coordination skills

  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment with people of diverse backgrounds.
