Damco EAF is currently hiring an Area Finance Controller located in Nairobi, Kenya. The Area Finance Controller is responsible for overall compliance and governance, internal controls, audits and tax for EAF Damco entities

Key Responsibilities
Overall responsible for controls in EAF organization (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Mauritius) which includes
- Evaluating the internal control environment.
- Recommending changes to processes and controls to establish sound framework for business.
- Monitoring the effectiveness of internal controls established.
- Owner of Authority Matrix
- Single Point of contact for Internal, External and Tax Auditors
- Evaluating the tax (CTI / VAT / WHT / Payroll etc) compliance and establishing the framework
- Evaluating the Legal and Group compliance requirements and establishing the framework
- Operations team, facilitate good team dynamics and maintain a safe, motivating and inspiring working place.
- Deep involvement with stakeholders such as KPA, KRA; other business units such as APMT, Damco; and other suppliers.Who we are looking for
Who we are looking for
- The ideal candidate should have an outgoing and convincing personality, a sense of urgency, drive and result orientation.
- Ability to communicate and drive the necessary changes within the organisation as well as persuade external stakeholders, not least Kenya Ports Authorities, into the proper course of action.
- An inspiring leadership figure, who can engage and motivate people.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred with strong background in tax.
- Minimum 10 years related experience.
- Big 4 experience preferred.
- Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications including SAP.
- Demonstrated success in matrix organization.
- Excellent planning, time management, collaboration, decision making, organization, presentation and negotiating skills.
- Demonstrated success in problem solving through use of data and information metrics and improvement to performance process.
- Travel is required at least 15% of the time in this position within EAF.
