International Medical Corps Job Vacancy in Kenya : Nutrition Officer

International Medical Corps currently implements projects in various counties in Kenya. International Medical Corps is seeking candidates to fill the following positions to support Nutrition Program.


Nutrition Officer - Samburu and Tana River


Scope of Work – Essential Duties




  • Provide technical support to Ministry of health in the implementation of High impact Nutrition interventions including MNP in the health facilities.

  • Provide Regular feedback from Key persons , including partners , residents and Vulnerable groups on program activities

  • Support on Job training of Ministry of health facility staff on all aspects of High impact Nutrition interventions.

  • Liaise with the health facilities and community health workers to monitor HiNi and MNP activities

  • Supporting MOH to strengthen planning, Advocacy, M&E, and logistic systems with regards to nutrition activities.

  • Assist in monitoring the nutrition situation in the Counties, including participating in nutrition assessment and surveillance as required.

  • Support bi-weekly assessments and nutrition surveillance at the facility level.

  • Conduct in conjunction with the CHMT on Job training on HiNi indicators at the facility level.

  • Support the CNO in writing monthly reports capturing the HiNi indicators.

  • Support proper implementation of IMAM , IYCF, MNP activities at the health facility level

  • Provide written reports and participates in programme reviews, evaluation and other programme documentation


Qualifications and Experience


  • Must have a Minimum qualification of degree in nutrition, proven technical and administrative skills

  • Registered with the relevant professional body. E.g KNDI

  • At least 2 years working with NGOs/ UN agencies in complex emergency context.

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience working in emergency nutrition program in a limited resource setting.

  • Strong negotiation and representational skills.

  • Excellent team building, interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Experience in nutritional surveillance, report writing, monitoring and evaluation.

  • Computer literate
