Job Description


Assist in ensuring effective and efficient management of transfer pricing (TP) compliance of SCB related party transactions within the Africa Region. This includes working with the Group Tax Transfer Pricing team and Africa Country and Regional Tax Managers to engage the businesses and other internal and external stakeholders in undertaking TP initiatives and risk mitigation projects to deliver the desired solutions


Key Roles & Responsibilities


 Assist in managing the overall Africa Regional and sub-Regional cost recharges. This includes ensuring that the Group and countries are kept up to date with the recharges position from a tax and transfer pricing perspective, and providing support to the Africa Regional Office finance team, on the recharge process.

 Work with Country/Regional tax to prepare TP reports and gather the relevant information to comply with the TP requirements in the African countries. Preparation of TP report entails performing functional interviews, economic analysis and various data analysis.

 Assist countries in preparing application and submission of documents to regulators for periodic approval for various related party transactions.

 Assist countries in handling and managing transfer pricing queries and disputes from the tax authorities and regulators.

 Provide transfer pricing support and input into various TP initiatives and projects impacting the Africa Region.


Qualifications & Skills


 Qualified tax professional (preferably Certified Account or Chartered Institute of Taxation or equivalent).

 Good knowledge in transfer pricing and a good general knowledge of the tax, other indirect taxes, finance and accounting.

 Have experience at an assistant manager level working on tax / finance advising on transfer pricing for or in international organisations.

 Thorough understanding of OECD and other major national and international principles and guidelines, TP methods and approaches.

 Understanding functional / economic analysis of business lines particularly in multi-national organizations.

 Preparation of proper/compliant transfer pricing reports and supporting documentation.

 Can work independently with limited direction from senior management to manage day-to-day support activities.

 Works well as part of the team and able to work and collaborates effectively with colleagues outside immediate team and department.

 Effective communication and presentational skills.

 Ability to work under pressure to demanding deadlines imposed by project timescales or tax authority requirements.

 Well developed analytical, organisational and time management skills.
