Operations Manager Jobs in Kenya 2015

Our Client is revolutionizing the way families across the developing world access quality education through their innovative ‘Academy-in-a-Box’ model of schooling. As of December 2014 they were operating over 350 academies throughout Kenya with nearly 100,000 pupils. As one of the fastest growing education companies in the world, they are set to expand their network of academies into Nigeria and Uganda in 2015 with plans for expansion into India on the horizon.

They are currently seeking additional Operations Programme Managers (OPM) to join their current team of three working within the broader Operations department. One OPM will own the vertical within Operations relating to customer retention, and overall community engagement. Another OPM will concentrate on academy manager performance, recruiting for new teachers and managers in our existing academies, and enhancing overall service delivery to our academy personnel.

If you’re someone who has significant experience working with low-income communities in a development context, a keen eye to detail, and a strong desire to impact our organization from both a business and academic perspective, then this position may be a great fit for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • As an Operations Programme Manager for Bridge, you join a fast-scaling global start-up and will shape the organization by working closely with other departments such as Marketing, People Operations, and Supply Chain to operationalize various initiatives aimed at strengthening our Academy Operations.

  • Responsibilities include integrating successful marketing pilot programmes into Operations’ normal activities or improving our ability to recruit teachers locally and monitoring the progress of these initiatives to ensure they are being implemented effectively at scale.

  • For Operations Programme Managers, the challenge is not only to operate at this scale, but to ensure effective delivery of a complex education service in some of the world’s most difficult operating environments.

Candidate Requirements

  • The ideal candidate for these positions will have a strong ability to multi-task and take ownership of the current activities related to customer retention or strengthening our academy personnel from the get-go.

  • You’re an extremely effective communicator, both written and verbal, and are energized by interacting with people, working across departments and drawing on your expert knowledge of the communities we serve.

  • In addition, you are able to work effectively with technology and data and have use both in your daily work to help organizations reach their objectives.

  • A keen sense of ownership, speedy execution, and scrappiness is a must.

  • The successful candidate is equally comfortable as an individual contributor as well as a manager who can drive the efforts of a team.
