GSM Systems East Africa Ltd. is looking to leverage our success in Kenya to increase and diversify our revenue streams in the East Africa / Sub-Saharan.


(COMESA) region. The right candidate will focus on creating opportunities by developing relationships within telecom operators to earn a greater share of the market.

Desired Skills and Experience


Activities & Requirements for the Business Development Job:



  • Cultivate and grow relationships with suppliers, customers, and 3rd party partners.

  • Generate quotes in MS Dynamics.

  • Ability to speak fluent English. Additional local language proficiency in French would be beneficial.

  • Personal Competencies: Integrity/honesty, organization and planning, calm under pressure.

  • Motivational competencies: enthusiasm/ability to motivate others, persistent, proactivity/takes initiative, work ethic, sets high standards.

  • Interpersonal Competencies: listening skills, open to constructive criticism and others’ ideas, written communications, oral communication, teamwork, persuasion, holds people accountable.

  • Technical/Functional Competencies: knowledge of the telecom industry and the local market.

  • Willingness to travel abroad, both to Global GSMS Office as well as other countries in the East Africa/COMESA Region.


Sales Job Description & Responsibilities



  • Sales strategy: Develop specific plan adhering to agreed timelines on how to sell GSM Systems’ services and products to existing and prospective customers.

  • Revenue targets: will be targeted based on agreed territory and perceived opportunities.

  • Win-Win Negotiation: Align business stakeholders to make a compelling value proposition and endorse our business case to decision makers.

  • Win major contracts: Personally win new customers and grow share of customer, knock down barriers to entry and close deals.

  • Analysis and planning: Monitor sales activity related to existing customers, pipeline, and prospects; provide accurate forecasts.

  • Teamwork: Interact effectively with other parts of the company. Obtain operational statistics that would promote business including objective win/loss analysis.
