IntraHealth International Inc Job Vacancy in Kenya : Monitoring and Evaluation Technical Advisor



SUMMARY OF ROLE

IntraHealth International, Inc. is currently accepting expressions of interest from potential candidates interested in serving as the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist as part of IntraHealth’ s submission for an upcoming USAID-funded social services protection tender in Kenya.


The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist will ensure the continuous monitoring of program progress in close collaboration with the Government of Kenya, USAID, and other implementing partners. S/he is responsible for designing and implementing program M&E activities, which will measure program outcomes and impact, and developing the capacity of various stakeholders in data collection, analysis, reporting, and evaluation. S/he will ensure a robust and adequate M&E data system to enhance the collection, management and analysis of program data and to track and report progress towards achieving results. The M&E Specialist will identify and evaluate best practices and state-of-the-art approaches for the program, and disseminate overall results to project stakeholders. S/he will reports to the Deputy Chief of Party and seek technical support and collaboration with the headquarters-based M&E Team.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Design the monitoring and evaluation framework for the project including the PMP and results framework.

  • Research, compile, write, and submit information for project reports, including the quarterly and annual reports, and respond to requests for data from USAID and other stakeholders

  • Develop forms and tools as well as procedures and timetables for the timely collection and submission of data, and train field staff on their use

  • Ensure data quality by conducting data quality assessments (DQAs) on all project indicators.

  • Complete data analysis and reports; enter and analyze quantitative and qualitative data according to the needs of the team and project stakeholders.

  • Ensure project staff buy-in and adherence to M&E framework

  • Prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, qualitative and quantitative analyses based on results to assist project in adjusting program activities.

  • Investigate, create, and develop new methods and technologies to aid project advancement.

  • Design and implement any assessments, special studies and operation research required by the Project.

  • Collect and disseminate best practices and lessons learned from the project.

  • Update program communications materials periodically.

  • Prepare routine reports, presentations, brochures, project summary sheets, newsletters, highlights and other publications as required by the project.




Desired Skills and Experience



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience



  • Master’s Degree or higher in social science, public health, statistics or other related fields.

  • At least 10 years’ experience in Monitoring & Evaluation, preferably with background in Social Work or Community Development.

  • Demonstrated expertise in monitoring and evaluation techniques, procedures, and protocols, with 10 or more years of proven M&E experience.

  • At least 5 years of research experience that includes leading and managing field teams, and developing protocols


Other Requirements



  • Experience working on M&E for USAID-funded projects.

  • Demonstrated skills in quantitative data analysis and data management.

  • Experience in questionnaire development (including testing for reliability and validity)

  • Strong writing skills with the ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated skill and effectiveness in communicating with others, particularly research and evaluation staff members (domestic and international).

  • Proficiency in English required.
