The Location
The Role
As an Assistant Chief Engineer at* InterContinental Nairobi*, you will be reporting directly to the Director of Engineering. Your core responsibilities will include the following:
- To place the Fire, Life and Safety policies before anything.
- Ensure the efficient operation of the Hotel property and all its equipment.
- Repair and Maintenance of the structural aspect of the hotel in a scrupulous and effective manner.
- Assist in the financial management of the engineering department as far as adhering to the maintenance budgets and energy management programmes are concerned.
- Raising awareness of staff at every level of operation of the importance of energy management and conservation.
- Ensuring that all subordinate staff are well qualified and technically competent by involving in the selection, training and development process.
Qualifications and Technical Skills
The ideal Assistant Chief Engineer must possess a degree in Engineering from a recognized Institution, at least two years demonstrable experience in a similar position (preferably in the hotel industry). Fluency of the English Language both written and spoken is essential.
