Job Description:
Purpose of job:
Provide leadership to position the organisation at the forefront of the industry. Develop a strategic plan to
advance the company’s mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability and growth as an
organisation. Oversee company operations to insure efficiency, quality, service and cost-effective
management of resources, with a focus on continuous development. Effectively utilise resources to drive the
organisation in achieving its overall targets and goals. Work closely with the Executive to develop and
implement corporate strategies in order to promote sustainability. Act as a role model in terms of
management style and behaviour, promoting of culture of oneness, promoting cross-functional relationships.
Drive internal process management as a means to success.
Key responsibilities:
Strategy:
Collaborate with shareholders to define and articulate the organisations vision and to develop strategies for
achieving that vision.
Create annual strategic plans that support direction set by shareholders and correlate the annual budgets.
Develop and monitor strategies for ensuring the long-term financial viability of the organisation.
Develops future leadership within the organisation.
Management:
Oversee the operations of the organisation and its compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Create and maintain procedures for implementing plans approved by shareholders and directors.
Promote a culture that reflects the organisation’s values, encourages good performance and rewards
productivity, reflected through working as one.
Oversee the management of human resources in accordance to the relevant Human Resource policies and
procedures that fully conform to current laws and regulations.
Ensure staff and the shareholders have sufficient and current information to allow them to undertake their
roles.
Evaluate the organisations and staff performance on a regular basis.
Financial management:
Oversees the development of annual budgets that support operating plans.
Prudently manage the organisation’s resources within budget guidelines according to current laws and
regulations.
Ensures that staff practices all appropriate accounting procedures in compliance with regulatory
requirements.
Provide prompt, thorough and accurate information to keep the shareholders and the Board appropriately
informed of the organisations financial position.
Human Resources management:
Ensure Human Resources processes are being complied with in accordance to internal policies,
procedures, in line with legal and regulatory requirements, to include recruitment, training and development,
policy development, employee relations and performance management and improvement systems.
Oversee the talent development and succession planning process so as to ensure the future growth of the
company.
Sales and Marketing management:
Develop a sales and marketing strategy that clearly identifies target markets and offers new and innovative
approaches to reaching customers, in line with the shareholders vision.
Oversee sales and marketing execution to bring in qualified customers, provide customers with a positive
experience and efficient management of customer pipeline.
Set appropriate sales targets for the Head of Sales and Marketing.
Monitor progress towards achieving sales and marketing targets, making adjustments as necessary.
General administration:
Evaluate in-place systems and procedures and ensuring to streamline where appropriate.
Evaluate technology implementation and optimise within budget constraints.
Regularly monitor all functions and evaluate their needs, performance, personnel and cost-effectiveness.
Evaluate and control all expenditure, implementing processes and controls where necessary.
Community relationships:
Serve as the primary spokesperson and representative for the organisation.
Ensure that the organisation and its vision and mission are consistently presented in a strong positive
image to all its stakeholders.
Actively advocate for the organisation and its beliefs.
Act as a liaison between the organisation and the community, building relationships with peer organisations
when necessary.
Operational effectiveness:
Oversee design, delivery and quality of operations and services.
Stay abreast of current trends related to the organisation’s products and services and anticipates future
trends likely to have an impact on its work.
Analyse information that measures the success of the organisations operations, refine or change
operations in response to this information.
Key Skills: Required qualifications/experience
Bachelors and Masters in Management or relevant field
Professional management qualification, in addition to management qualification
Seven to nine years of experience in management, a minimum five of which should be at Executive
Management level, preferably in the security industry
Experience in the implementation and management of corporate strategies, policies and process
Working knowledge of multiple functions including finance, sales, HR, business development and innovation
Experienced leader with the ability to motivate, influence, develop and empower employees to achieve
objectives with a team approach, focusing upon relationship building
