A leading global energy construction service provider is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Contract Administrator to join their team on an exciting large scale energy project being developed in Kenya. The role, reporting to the Contract Manager, will involve managing the compliance requirements for all contracts, as well as managing sub-contractors to ensure compliance and completion of the project. The candidate will be based on site, a remote location with a harsh environment, arid with high daily temperatures. This will require them to be adaptable, up for a challenge and able to work efficiently with their team when moving around the site. The successful candidate will be responsible for: inviting and processing tenders, preparing contract documents for execution, administrating change control procedures, carrying out instructions in relation to the contract, issuing instructions such as variations, preparing and issuing construction progress reports, co-ordinating and instructing site inspectors, approving commissioning and testing procedures, approving defects reporting procedures, ensuring that project documentation is issued, issuing certificates of practical completion and interim certificates, collecting and issuing schedules of defects, issuing the certificate of making good defects and issuing the final certificate.
Desired Skills and Experience
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field e.g. Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying and others.
- Experience handling EPC contracts for large multi-disciplinary megaprojects (>$10million)
- Proven history of contract compliance
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working on-site in a construction environment
- Strong report writing skills in English and Swahili
- FIDIC contracts and document control/administration experience advantageous
- Excellent communication skills English and Swahili
- Good time management skills
