Damco Kenya is currently hiring for Sales Support to be stationed in Nairobi.

Key Responsibilities




  • To support Premier Sales Executives, Business Development Executives and/or Key Account Managers to ensure that they have as much customer facing time as possible.

  • Receive telephone calls as backup to PSE, BDE and/or KAM’s that are “out on the road”

  • Determine customer requirements and liaise with PSE/KAM’s to act quickly in responding to their requests

  • Needs to build up the ability to take quoting and other decisions towards customer requests when PSE/BDE/KAM and Commercial Managers are not available

  • Understand all Selling Rate guidelines

  • Will be required to inquire within the DAMCO organization for rates on various services that may not be covered in any guidelines

  • Will be responsible for creating on following up on quotations and proposals to customers assigned to their assigned PSE/KAM

  • Arranging Customer Visits when required

  • Creating and distributing required forms in the “knowledge transfer” stages

  • Arranging Customer Visits (not as a general rule but when executives are travelling or outside the office as an example

  • Credit application follow upWho we are looking for

  • Freight Forwarding and/or Logistics experience of more than 1 year, when possible

  • Good analysis and judgment skills

  • Ability to multitask and set priorities in a fair and objective manner

  • Ability to deal with multi personalities

  • Strong telephone and customer service skills

  • Ability to deal with customer requests in a quick and decisive manner

  • Must speak and write the native language at a high level

  • Must speak and write English at an intermediate level

  • Must be outgoing and easily able to build relationships at all levels
