Main Purpose of the role
With high focus on strategy and growth in Africa it is critical that commercial activities are supported by solid financing models and solutions. As Customer Financing Manager Africa you will be responsible for preparing financing solutions as a strategic enabler to driving sales growth. He/she is also responsible for preparing customized financing solution for customers and tender requirements. This is a hands-on role where passion, teamwork and entrepreneurship will be keys to success. Customer Financing Manager Africa reports to the Sector Leader Africa and the Head of Philips Capital Africa. He/she is also part of the Africa management team and works in closecooperation with country sales force & controllers within the Africa Market.
Key Accountabilities:
Supports large, complex tendertransactions and documentation which require financing through directinvolvement with Africa team Leads preparation of financing solutionsin cooperation with country sales force & controllers within the AfricaMarket, including customer visits Provides market insight about financingneeds/available products and identifies financing opportunities/sources Analyzes customer’s financing requirementsand prepares solutions/negotiations with customers and financial institutions;takes responsibility for execution of those solutions Prepares risk assessments for seniormanagement with a clear and consistent approach to mitigate legal, regulatory,industry and other risks in partnership with subject matter experts from otherteams and functions Negotiates terms and conditions fortransactions and works with cross-functional teams to ensure appropriatedocumentation related to financing is in place Develops sales financing portfolio andbuilds and maintains relationships with Banks and other financial institutions Provide training to sales force Work closely and liaise with PhilipsCapital CoE and Philips sectors on customer financing way of working andguidelines
Education & Experience
University degree in related sector 8 years in a financing environment withina bank or in industry, experience with the asset based and non-asset basedfinancing solutions Knowledge of short term working capitaland long term debt finance products and approach Extensive experience large tender transactionsis required Knowledge of Commercial Loan and / orLease transactions as well as financial statement analysis and advancedfinancing/transaction structuring techniques Experience with evaluating legaldocumentation Capabilities for solution design,information collection and financial data analysis and risk management Understanding of financing solutions and ROI concept Fluent in English Computer literacy Positive attitude and performance underhigh pressure Interactive, self-motivated, open tochanges, performing towards targets Results focused and performance driven Ability to handle multiple taskssimultaneously and continually meet deadlines Excellent communicationskills-interpersonal, verbal, and written Ability to work successfully withdifferent cultures across organization boundaries Willingness to travel to be mobile in /outside the region (25%-40%)
