Roles and responsibilities
- Assist in all seed quality testing procedures in the laboratory
- Assist in processing and documenting seed requests.
- Assist in data collection on agroforestry tree seed science and technology research.
- Assistant in processing seeds for storage.
- Assist in maintaining tidiness in the seed laboratory and seed storage facilities.
- Assist in maintenance of the reagent, consumables and equipment inventory for the seed laboratory.
- From time to time participate in seed collection missions.
- Monitor temperature humidity records of the drying room and seed storage.
- Ensure proper documentation of seedlings transfer from growth chambers to nursery and follow up on their performance.
- Assist students and interns attached to the seed laboratory.
Skill set
- Diploma in Applied Biology, Laboratory Technology or any other related field
- Two years’ experience in a seed testing laboratory
- Knowledge of standard laboratory operation procedures
- Knowledge of seed testing procedures
- Computer literate
Work experience: 2 years
