Unilever Job Vacancy in Kenya : Finance Manager

Main Purpose of the Job



  • To be responsible for all financial activities on site, including all elements of financial control: Delivering of SUR, management of CAPEX, accurate and timely reporting of actuals and highlighting financial forecasts on site.

  • To provide a commercial lead on-site through the modelling of future scenarios linked to strategic plans and to ensure close liaison/co-operation


Key Responsibilities



  • Ensuring the delivery of the Site’s Sourcing Unit Results (SUR).

  • Management of Capital Investment (CAPEX).

  • Leadership and development of the Finance Team at site.

  • Maintenance of all key financial controls across the site, with particular emphasis on ensuring adherence to Unilever’s accounting policy and on raising awareness of risk management and control considerations throughout the management team.

  • Management of all basic financial transaction systems and processes used at the site.

  • Delivery of timely and accurate reporting of all aspects of financial performance.

  • Budget for future site conversion costs, and deliver a timely forecasting process to highlight potential deviations from these budgets.

  • Completion of financial modelling and analysis in support of CAPEX or other ad-hoc business proposals as needed.

  • Development and improvement of financial models to support, challenge and drive the future strategy

  • Develop a culture of continuous development under which all members of Finance can reach their full potential.

  • To play a key role in all areas of the Trafford Park Management Team including strategy, annual contract and general site issues


Key skills and Qualifications



  • A Degree in Accounting or any other related field

  • CPA (or equivalent) qualified.

  • At least 5-7 years’ experience in financial management.

  • FMCG Background preferred.

  • General SAP knowledge.

  • Experience in interacting with and positively influencing senior management teams.

  • A basic appreciation of key accounting operational processes (AP, GL, costing, fixed assets).

  • Experience in decision support and performance analysis.

  • People management experience (ideally in a transacting environment).

  • Internal control and risk management experience.

  • Project management skills.
