Airtel Kenya Job Vacancy : Head of Data Sales


Airtel Kenya wishes to recruit the position of Head of Data Sales within the Sales and distribution function. This role will report directly to the Sales and Distribution Director.


Key responsibilities of the role will include:



  • · Drive acquisition of subscribers on Smartphones that use data on our network

  • · Make key contribution to the formulation of overall sales strategy and maintain effective


Communications with general management across the organization to ensure proper


Sensitivity to Data needs



  • · Manage the activation commission budget for data revenue bucket

  • · Drive sales for Smartphone and other data devices

  • · Support, guide and supervise the Zonal Sales Managers in delivery of set targets by setting


Standards, priorities and work schedules



  • · Manage the Channel Partners in regards to Data products and devices

  • · Establish and manage effective programs to address Pro-active competitive strategies and targeted sales campaigns



Desired Skills and Experience



Qualifications and Competencies



  • Minimum Master’s degree in business or other relevant discipline

  • 1-3 years sales experience and 1-3 years FMCG or telco experience preferred or 3-5 years sales and management experience working with and motivating cross functional teams

  • Strong competency in Excel and data analysis

  • Self-starter, highly organized and collaboration minded,

  • Solutions and results driven

  • Strategic planning, relationship and project management

  • Ability to develop sales strategies to align to customer and segment needs

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Exemplary leadership and people management skills

  • Highly logical and systematic, independent and fast learner
