Summary: Our client is a leading food processing company in Kenya. They seek to hire a Company Engineer . Reporting to the General Manager, you will work to produce high quality goods using the most cost-effective methods and with the aim of reducing the impact of production on the environment.
You will also be expected to improve on production facilities, reduce incidences of costly breakdowns and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes. Key Responsibilities
- Designing new systems and processes for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones
- Designing maintenance strategies, procedures and methods;
- Supervising junior engineers and sub-contractors and ensuring effective communication in order to avoid errors;
- Organizing plant start-up and shut-down schedules to ensure minimum loss of production time and profits;
- Diagnosing breakdown problems
- Monitoring and controlling maintenance costs;
- Carrying out quality inspections
- Arranging specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components;
- Dealing with emergency and unplanned problems and repairs;
- Writing maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning guidelines.
- Examining and tendering for new equipment.
Education and Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering ( Manufacturing)
- Business related computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
- At least two years experience in engineering in FMCG.
- Keen attention to detail, analytical, creative and a self starter.
- Strong leadership ability
