JOB OVERVIEW
Under the guidance of the Maintenance Engineer you will operate, maintain and repair all aspects of the Hotels systems in accordance with IHG standards to achieve optimum operating efficiency of equipment at all times.
InterContinental Nairobi is looking for an
Electrician
to join our Engineering team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Carry out all repairs and maintenance of various electrical systems as directed by the Maintenance Engineering or his designate.
Replace all faulty lamps and check electrical appliances and sockets for correct operation.
Service and repair on various types of electrical equipment such as laundry equipment, kitchen equipment, heating, ventilating and air conditioning.
Repair and maintain all electrical circuits in all areas of the hotel premisesincluding any new additional/extensions to the hotel or any other properties maintained by the hotel and install and modify electrical systems and equipmentin accordance with the established codes and standards.
Carryout repair and preventive maintenance of all electrical panels/equipment
Advise Chief Engineer or his designate on all improvements to present electrical systems.
Check and confirm quality of electrical materials/supplies brought by suppliers foruse in the hotel.
Participate in hotel energy conservation programme
Attend to all types of repair and maintenance work in the hotel premises including anynew additional/extension to the hotel or any other properties maintained by the hotel
Carryout maintenance orders and periodic repairs and maintenance schedules asassigned by Hotel Engineer or his designate
Repair and maintain all electrical equipment
Participate in all preventive maintenance of all and electrical equipment.

6.
Familiarize yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures
7.
Ensure all security incidents, accidents and near misses are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of the Line Manager
8.
Comply with the Company’s Corporate Code of Conduct
9.
Familiarize self with the company values (Great Hotels Guests Love) and model desired behaviors (Winning Ways, Room to be Yourself) and ways of working (IHG Wheel).
10.
Perform all tasks as directed by the Manager in pursuit of the achievement of business goals
