In Kenya, we are seeking a Senior Account Manager to join the Safaricom Account Team a key strategic customer in the region as part of the Customer Unit for Vodafone in Sub-Saharan Africa. The position is based in Ericsson Kenya. The Senior Account Manager will be responsible to shape and drive our business relationships and continue profitable growth with Safaricom. The Senior Account manager will work within the Safaricom Key Account Team and will report to the Key Account Manager.


Description: We are seeking a Senior Account Manager with a proven track record in supporting technical and services sales of telecommunication solutions to Service Providers. In this role you will play a key role in driving the sales growth with Safaricom, in Kenya.


As Senior Account Manager within the Safaricom Account you will be responsible for establishing relationships with technical key influencers as well as decision makers and manage the entire sales process from opportunity creation to sales closure and successful delivery.


You will promote and establish Ericsson’s position as a key player in the Telecommunications market addressing our full portfolio of products and services building from Ericsson’s expertise as the global leader in Mobile Communication and strong connections with Vodafone Global.



  • Secure short and long-term profitable business for Ericsson through proactive business development based on fundamental understanding of Safaricom business, operations and objectives.

  • Actively manage and mobilize internal resources to deliver efficient and effective end to end solutions allowing seamless transition from sales to operations.

  • Develop both internal and external relation/s in order to actively contribute to making SafaricomIreland and Ericsson successful.

  • Deliver on Safaricom Key Performance Metrics, including Orders booked, Net sales, Margins, Cash flow, Customer Satisfaction & Key Sales Objectives.

Requirements



  • Bachelors Degree required. Technical Degree and/or MBA considered a merit.

  • 5-10 years experience of working in the Telecoms Industry preferably with vendor and/or operator

  • Proven history of successful Consultative Presales activities including experience working with operator and engaging in technical conversations along with a strong understanding of how they evaluate, purchase, and deploy large scale systems.

  • Evidence of ability to build credibility and stature with Safaricom at senior levels.

  • Excellent negotiation/communication skills.

  • Ability to create innovative proposals attractive to Safaricom and to the benefit of Ericsson.

  • Strong leadership skills, particularly with the ability to mobilize virtual teams to secure and deliver the business objectives.

  • Strong track record of achieving and exceeding results.

  • A good working knowledge of the Kenya and African Telecoms Market.

  • An extensive contact network in the market, Safaricom specific a key advantage.

  • Strong ability to work in a complex global environment, effectively building and sustaining relationships at multiple levels with the customer as well as internally.

  • Strong team player whom easily integrates in an existing team and has the ability to create the needed team to achieve the business objectives.

  • Open, winning and go-getter attitude, organized and structured, an excellent listener and strong presentation skills are pre-requisites.

  • Articulates arguments or ideas in a compelling way.
