This role reports to the Materials planning Manager Context/Scope: EABL operates within a multi-cultural, multinational, multi currency environment. EABL comprises five business units: KBL, EAML, CGI, UBL, and SBL. The Planning department will be responsible for materials short and long-term plans and coordinating their logistics and delivery to the respective business units. Effective procurement and materials planning are key to the realization of efficient production process, customer satisfaction, sustaining competitive advantage, maintaining EABL’s position among leading-edge companies and maximise utilisation of assets. This role works closely with the Supply Chain & Logistics teams, (Production, logistics and procurement) and ABSC.
Purpose of the role: This position is responsible for ensuring that material plans are in place, aligned to the demand forecast and monitor the materials delivery schedules and ensure suppliers meet the communicated materials schedules/plans and guarantee uninterrupted production plans to meet customer requirements.
Market Complexity: Ensuring timely ordering and coordination of seamless delivery of required materials for production as per the forecasted demand and Inventory Targeting to deliver business cash objectives.
Top Accountabilities:
Prepare material plans which ensure consistency of supply and deliver zero stocks out and optimize on the inventory levels.
Continuous review materials requirements as per the production plan, and ensure Adherence to production plan is attained.
Liaise with the materials planning manager to coordinate and deliver seamless Materials Plans
Coordinates with procurement controllers and ABSC Orderers to ensure materials are timely availed and at a cost effective manner
Manages the delivery schedules shared with suppliers, and ensure they are often reviewed and aligned to the prevailing demand and changes in recipe
Maintaining and committing suppliers to a materials delivery schedule
Continuously review supplier’s performance, and regularly share with the materials planning manager their performance against the set KPIs
Liaising with the forwarding and clearance agent, and get updates on all imported materials consignments
Reporting on the materials plans, deviations and review impact on the trends and timely escalate any risk. Qualification & Experience:
Minimum 2ndclass Honours degree preferably in Supply Chain Management
Diploma in Purchasing and Supply and Inventory Management
2 years’ experience in Supply Chain with working knowledge of SAP and Demand Solutions, preferably in an FMCG manufacturing environment.
Knowledge and experience in materials importation process.
